The very best application I’ve ever found for this is Automatic Wallpaper Changer from Steve Murphy Software. A good wallpaper app accesses your own stored files, preferably without internet access or duplicate storage, and just changes them randomly. This particular wallpaper app – for me – is a no-no. And isn’t that (in the home at least) what our devices are for? From my point of view a continual pleasure in looking at changed images (from art to travel, from science fiction to the occasional nipple) each time I switch on my PC. I have – courtesy of 30 years collecting – a HUGE wallpapers file.
But that kind of avoids the fact that many of us regard our PCs as devices that should do what WE want rather than what others want. They’re not for everyone and it’s true they tend to be a resource hog.
